For over twenty-five years, VSBIT has been serving Vermont school districts by providing cost effective insurance and risk management programs as well as offering educational and professional development opportunities to district employees and administrators. Since its inception, VSBIT has followed a set of principles, which has enabled it to explore and offer worthy insurance programs and other needed services. It remains very important to the Directors that VSBIT only offers programs that truly serve school districts. Given all this, VSBIT continually endeavors to be sensitive to the needs of school districts so that it can react appropriately and in a timely manner.
Today, VSBIT maintains or sponsors a variety of insurance and risk management programs. Throughout the year it also conducts, through its School Management Resource Center, a series of educational workshops and seminars on school related Human Resource and Physical Plant Management issues.
The future holds many challenges, as the various market forces that affect these programs shift over time. VSBIT will continue to evaluate those market forces and position itself to assist schools in the best way possible. As in the past, VSBIT will carefully consider all options and only get involved if it can make a difference.
VSBIT is committed to providing Vermont School Districts with cost-effective insurance, risk management, and related management support programs. If you have any questions or wish to receive information concerning any of our programs and services, please contact the VSBIT office at 802-223-5040.
VSBIT'S Management Team
VSBIT provides its insurance programs, risk management, educational programs, training and other services to it's members through a small, but strong, management team, most of whom have been with VSBIT for several years. John Gutman was one of the original founders of the Trust and has been with the organization since its inception; and Joseph Zimmerman has been with VSBIT for over 17 years. VSBIT's team also includes dedicated individuals who specialize in certain fields in order to better serve member school districts.
