The VEHI LTD Program began on July 1, 2002. Key features of the Program include:
- An industry leader: The Program is delivered through the UnumProvident Corporation, a national leader in the LTD field
- Competitive prices: Because of VEHI's unique relationship with Unum, it is believed that costs for most schools will be priced below the general market
- Flexible design: The Program offers two different benefit levels - - Plan A offers a 60% monthly income benefit and Plan B offers a 66% monthly benefit
- Elimination period: The Program takes effect 90 days (calendar) after disability
Life Insurance coverage is also available to districts that purchase VEHI's LTD Program. Life insurance benefits are offered in $10,000 increments up to 5 times an employee's salary or $500,000 whichever is less.
