Becky is an environmental and safety compliance leader with 20+ years of corporate, academic, and governmental experience in chemistry safety, regulatory compliance, hazardous waste management, emergency response, professional training, EPA negotiations, and chemical risk minimization. Becky led a school chemical cleanout program in Iowa and has conducted more than 350 cleanouts at high schools, community colleges and universities. She is the owner and senior consultant for Hazardous Materials Consulting, Inc. providing regulatory assistance to school, industry, and government.

Becky has trained hundreds of administrators, teachers and facility personnel in school chemical safety and those efforts resulted in the disposal of more than 400,000 pounds of unwanted, toxic, flammable, unstable, highly regulated, hazardous chemicals across the country. She is well versed in EPA hazardous waste regulations and the unique challenges schools face. She is a North American Hazardous Materials Managers (NAHMMA) and Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) certified trainer, received the Iowa Governor’s Environmental Excellence program award, and honorable mention from EPA’s Pollution Prevention for her school chemical safety efforts.
